20 Reasons To Call Your Mom

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Mass Amherst chapter.

We get it, Collegiettes. We really do. College life is so insanely busy that sometimes you don’t even have a second to yourself to breathe, let alone call home. But trust me– there are so many more reasons to call your mom than you think:

1. You need a pep talk.

2. Because you’re not sure if what you have is the cold or the bubonic plague.

3. You need to plan your next trip back home.

4. You need a mental break.

5. Because you weren’t sure if “Teaspoon” and “Tablespoon” are the same thing.

6. Something just reminded you of her.

7. Because you can’t file your taxes on your own.

8. You need someone to talk to.

9. No one else really listens like she does.

10. Because you’re pretty sure you don’t have to use glass cleaner on a mirror, but want to make sure.

11. You need help figuring out why the washing machine isn’t working.

12. You need help figuring out why the dryer isn’t working.

13. Because you have no idea how your sweater shrunk to be a third of its size after washing it.

14. Because you’re not sure what you should wear to a “real job” interview.

15. You need expert advice.

16. Because she gets it.

17. Because you’re not sure if aluminum can go in the microwave.

18. You really don’t know how any of this works.

19. You miss her and love her.

20. She misses you and loves you right back.

Why are you going to call your mom today, Collegiettes?
