Name: Jacques Colimon

Year: Class of 2014

Major: BA Theatre & Dance, BS RTF

Hometown: Los Angeles
What extracurricular activities are you involved in?
I’m an actor, model, and filmmaker on campus and around the Austin area.

What are your plans for after college?
After graduating I plan on moving back to Los Angeles to continue my career(s) in the entertainment business.

Pick one: Tiff’s Treats or Amy’s Ice Cream?
Definitely Tiff’s Treats. Amy’s Ice Cream rocks, but there’s sentimental value to Tiff’s. I can’t begin to recall the number of times those delicious cookies have made it backstage before performances and on set during shoots.

What’s your favorite place on campus?
The Winship Atrium! [Winship is the theater building.] It’s a lot like hanging out in the Gryffindor common room at Hogwarts…

What’s the first thing you notice about girls?
A person’s eyes are always telling, so naturally that’s the first thing I take notice of.

What is your favorite Christmas movie?
The Polar Express! Served well with hot chocolate.

What’s your idea of a perfect date?
Anything unconventional. I could list a number of classic dates like bowling or dinner and a movie, but to me it’s not the location or activity of the date that really matters but the quality of the interaction. I could set up a date in a library and still have fun, maybe more fun, if we’re getting along. It’s all about the connection.

Who is the most inspirational person in your life?
My father has been there for me unconditionally since day one. His endless support for me and my career choice, which is especially difficult to fathom for a parent with a son in the entertainment industry, is something I cherish. He is a model friend, father, gentleman and scholar, and inspires me everyday to pursue my dreams deliberately, purely, and with integrity.

What else should people know about you?
The great outdoors is my zen. Outside of the rehearsal room, I love to get outdoors and take a hike, go camping, swimming, biking…I’m also a total nerd by the Donald Glover definition. You can always find the roommates and me freestyle rapping down at our place in Mueller–we call it the Brojo, the Bromuda Triangle, the Humble Abrode. I love video games, skating, photography, movies, and theatre…but most of all I love traveling. Costa Rica is my second home. I like to think I have a sense of humor, and my appetite for The Walking Dead television series is something fierce. I have two brothers–one older and
one younger–and everyday I wake up and remind myself of just how blessed I am with this charmed life that I live. Pura Vida.
