4 Emotions You Go Through While Looking for an Internship

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SCSU chapter.

We all know it can be stressful to get the experience you need to land the job of your dreams. One major step to achieving that milestone is landing an internship, and boy is that stressful. We go through the endless searching for an internship that seems great, and that would give you something new to learn, then we have to stress out over applying. Cover letters, resumes, and emails all have to be professional and although you read them over and over again to make sure that you’ve corrected every mistake, you still feel like they aren’t good enough. After you apply, you stand in that treacherous field of waiting, and hoping you’ll get a response.

1. Excitement

You’ve just started your search, the possibilities are endless!

2. Success

You’ve found an internship that seems perfect for you.

3. Stress, stress, and more stress

You looked, and you found something but now you have to apply. You have to create a cover letter, and make sure your resume is the best it can be. Then you have to compose a professional email to submit all your files.

4. Impatience

Now you wait and cross your fingers in hopes of getting an email back!

Good luck, may you land the internship you’re hoping for.
