We college students fall under many crazy yet accurate stereotypes. Other than staying up all night cramming for finals, napping all day and skipping a class to finish a paper, there is another bad habit that totally consumes us (as we consume it).  Our eating habits range from the “Freshman 15” to the “I haven’t eaten in 2 days.” How is it possible to maintain a healthy diet in an environment that does not necessarily allow it? All we need is a little help. That help is right in front of our eyes on the screen we look at constantly. The College Nutritionist Blog is one of the most popularly credited blogs for college students. Like Her Campus, The College Nutritionist especially cares about these four years of our lives. It is dedicated to promoting a happy and healthy lifestyle for the typical college student.

I had the opportunity to talk to Chiara Giombetti, a 23 year old graduate from Scranton, who studied Exercise Science and Nutrition. Chiara is an intern with The College Nutritionist as the Director of Innovation. She started off by updating all of the blog’s social media accounts such as Instagram and Facebook, and now writes articles that are submitted to other magazines and media sources.

“The blog exists mainly to help make living a healthy lifestyle in college easy and accessible,” Chiara said.

The College Nutritionist essentially contains recipes, quick guides and outlets to other nutrition websites. The blog breaks everything down for you and makes recipes easy.

“All the recipes we make contain minimal ingredients and 10 minutes of cooking time. Some on the stove or in the oven, some you don’t even need appliances,” Chiara said.

What makes this blog even more perfect is that every recipe comes with a nutrition facts label!

“You will know the serving size, exactly how much you should be eating and what you’re getting out of it,” Chiara added.
And don’t worry- the blog is legit! The founder Rachel Paul is an RD (registered dietician) getting her doctorate at Colombia for Nutrition. Another intern for College Nutritionist is studying Nutrition at NYU. The information in this blog is scientific and accurate.

So, you may find yourself asking these questions at some point:

“What should I eat during an all-nighter?”

“Should I have a mini fridge in my dorm?”

“What do I do when my friends are late night ordering food!?”

These questions are frequently asked…and they are all answered in the FAQ section featured in the blog.

The College Nutritionist Team loves seeing readers’ responses through social media. Chiara says it is her favorite part about her internship.

She found out about the internship on The College Nutritionist’s Instagram page. If you are interested in interning with this blog, visit their website www.collegenutrionist.com.
