13 Things We Can’t Forget About in Life

This is a little reminder of a few things you should always keep in the back of your mind:

1. Forget about it.

That weird, embarrassing thing that happened… forget about it. Chances are that everyone else has already forgotten about it too. Don’t let that crazy, embarrassing, or weird moment beat you up inside; that moment has passed and it’s over. You’re onto the next moment and chapter of your life so forget about it. You’ll look back and laugh about it someday.

2. Social lives go through cycles.

If you feel like your friends are ignoring you, hate you, or don’t care about you, it’s not true. Don’t feel like they’re all against you, they’re probably just busy. Everyone will always have something going on in their lives, so don’t take it personally.

3. Experience something new.

If you’re hung up on someone or something that is hurtful or unbeneficial to you, go out and experience something new. Read a book, go for a hike, or paint your nails. These things might not solve your problems, but they will make you feel better, I promise.

4. It’s okay.

Live your life unapologetically. Be proud of who you are. It’s okay if you failed a test. It’s okay to mess up. It’s okay to take time for yourself. Stop apologizing for the things that make you who you are, because it’s okay. Don’t ever apologize for who you are.

5. If you want something, go get it.

You can’t rely on others to give you what you want. No one else is going to go get it for you, you have to go get it yourself. We all deserve our best chance. Go try for yours.  

6. Always forgive.

Always forgive people and move on, even if they never ask for your forgiveness. Although someone may have hurt you, he or she has also built you. Don’t do it for them, do it for you. The best medicine is a strong dose of love, laughter, and letting go.

7. If you don’t ask, the answer will always be no.

Don’t assume you always know the answer. If you need something, ask for it. If you want to know something, ask about it. Don’t let the answer always be no.

8. Don’t love just to be loved.

Don’t love just to feel it in return. Chances are you will get hurt. Love just because you love. Simple as that. 

9. They will find a way, no matter what.

Don’t fight for someone who does not put the effort and doesn’t show that they want to be in your life. If they want to be with you, if they want to see you, they will find a way to do it. You deserve the best.

10. Stop comparing yourself.

You are you. Nobody else could be you even if they tried to be.

11. Act the way you’d like to act, sooner or later, you will naturally be that way.

If you want to be that kind of person you have always longed to be, you will be in time. Practice makes habit.

12. You will change.        

You’re not the same person you were five years ago, two seconds ago, one week ago, and that is okay. People are always growing and changing. If you don’t like who you are, you have the right to change. If you want to change, you will change. No one ever stays the same.

13. Being happy is the most important thing.

Be happy with what you’re doing everyday. Live in the moment, but think about the long-term happiness. Do whatever it takes. You only have one opportunity to live your life. Don’t waste that time being unhappy with what you’re doing, how you act, or who you are because you’ll never get that time to do it again. Do whatever it takes to make yourself happy.
