High school is a long four years filled with desperation to leave, but to never grow up. Whether or not high school was enjoyable, most of us look back and have some cringe-worthy stories and ones that we will never forget. There is one thing about high school that I will forever cherish, and that is my girls.

To my high school squad:

There is no doubt in my mind that without our tight-knit friend group, I wouldn’t be the person that I am today. For most of my “firsts,” you were right by my side. My first kiss, my first love, my first fight, my first heartbreak — the list goes on. Whether I needed someone to laugh or cry with, I always had my girls.

You know me better than I know myself, which sounds cliche, but it’s true. High school truly holds the days that meld us into the people we are meant to be. I can attribute many of the traits I have today to all of you. What I cherish most is that you taught me what a true friend is. I never felt judged or unwanted when I was with you. You were the only ones I wanted to go to when anything happened in my life, whether it be good or bad, and I can’t thank you enough for that.

You taught me how to be a badass chick. We went through some hard times together, but we had so many more amazing moments. We grew stronger together. The confidence you gave me in myself and my abilities is something that today, I’d be lost without.

I am so proud of all my girls. Whether you are killing college sports or studying your booty off, I’m filled with an immense amount of pride when I look at how far we’ve come. We are becoming who we stayed up all night talking about being. However, things don’t always go as planned, and when they don’t, I know you will always have my back and I will have yours.

We have fewer times together now, and I don’t get to see your beautiful faces every day. But when we do see each other, it’s like nothing’s ever changed. I will forever value the love and friendship you’ve all given me. Whether you are a room away, miles away or states away from me, it doesn’t matter. We will always be there for eachother, and nothing can change that.

With love always,

Your high school bestie
