What is CHAARG? CHAARG stands for Changing Health, Attitudes and Actions to Recreate Girls. With over 5000+ members nationwide, CHAARG aims to help college-aged girls find their fit for fitness as well as live happier, healthier lifestyles!

How did you first hear about CHAARG? I first heard about CHAARG through a student activities fair pamphlet. I looked up the website, immediately fell in love with their values and mission, and the rest is history.

What do you do for MSU CHAARG’s e-board? I am Vice President of Membership for MSU’s chapter, so I mostly deal with recruitment and membership engagement. I make a recruitment schedule every semester and help put together materials necessary for tabling and getting girls interested and pumped to join CHAARG! I will also be running a small group workout throughout the year, and overall, I just do what I can to help our chapter grow and run smoothly.

What is your favorite thing about CHAARG? My favorite thing about CHAARG is the open, positive community. Going into CHAARG, I wasn’t a super social person – my stomach would get into knots the first few times I went to events because I was definitely stepping out of my comfort zone joining an organization where I knew no one, and I was worried I would lag behind because I was so out of shape. But I felt extremely at home and comfortable after only going to a couple events. Everyone genuinely wanted to support me and build me up, and I felt so welcomed, important, and developed a really positive mindset because of it. It helped me pull out of my shell A LOT, and I am way more happier and healthier in many aspects of my life than I was months ago. Now it’s my goal to offer the home that CHAARG has offered to me to others as well as inspire and motivate as many girls that I can towards being the best version of themselves!

What is your favorite way to workout? Hot yoga is definitely my favorite workout. I sweat buckets, but I always leave feeling like I have a new body.

What is your favorite healthy snack or meal? I am in LOVE with overnight oats. Super quick, easy, and delicious, and you can always switch flavors up, so it never gets boring.

What’s your favorite store to buy workout clothes? Victoria Secret – all of their sports bras and leggings are extremely comfy and cute. I have yet to be disappointed by anything I buy from there.

What else are you involved in on campus? I am also involved in the Student Health Advisory Council, Pilipino American Student Society and the Biomedical Laboratory Diagnostics Student Association.

What is your dream job? One day I would love to open my own practice as an OB/GYN. I volunteer in the Mother/Baby Unit and Obstetrician Special Care at the local hospital, and it’s one of the most fulfilling things I’ve ever done. I would love to work with pregnant mothers and their babies to ensure that they are and stay happy and healthy.
