Dear FSU,

You have given me the best three and a half years of my life. We still have half a year together, so don’t worry. The memories that I have made here will be some of my fondest memories. You shaped me into the person I am today. Without you, I don’t know who I would have become.

I remember stepping foot onto this beautiful campus and instantly feeling a sense of home, a feeling that was unlike any other I had felt before. The people here that come to you are genuine, real and we all have a special bond. Your atmosphere is indescribable. The bond that we have as being Seminoles is something that nobody will ever understand unless they go here. You have defined the meaning of being a Florida State Seminole, which is to be strong, dedicated, fun and friendly and to always look out for one another.

I will never forget the special times you have given me; the times when I got to splash around in Westcott Fountain and the times when happy hour was the only priority on a Friday. The times when every Saturday in fall was booked and when The Strip was the place to be everyday of the weekend as a freshman. The drunken devouring of Gumby’s. The warm welcome I always received from Ms. Killings as I entered the dining hall. The puppies on Landis Green and the hungover Sunday afternoons spent there. The outstanding professors who took the time to get to know their students. The curriculum that consistently challenged me. Even the times where I would have to show up to class two hours early just to find a parking spot. The memories.

Thank you. Thank you for showing me that I am capable of what I set my mind to. Thank you for this opportunity, and for giving me more school spirit than I ever thought possible. For allowing me to bleed garnet and have a heart of gold. For doing the war chant a million times and never getting sick of it, even at the local bars and clubs. For having the best mascot in all of college sports. For giving me the greatest sports teams in the country. For that National Championship. For allowing me to witness history being made. For giving me the best friends that will be standing there next to me on my wedding day. For being there for me through the good times and the bad times. For constantly proving to me that I go to the best university in the entire country.

I am scared to leave you and go out into the real world. I find so much comfort here with you and the people surrounding you. Bur I am also confident in my abilities that I have learned here at this amazing university. You taught me how to be unconquered. You have given me an opportunity of a lifetime and I plan on making you proud. Whenever somebody asks, “Where did you go to college?” I will proudly respond, “Florida State University” because I know I go to the best university in the country.

I look forward to the days of coming back to you as an alumni. I look forward to walking around campus and reliving the memories you have given me. I look forward to raising my kids to become future Seminoles, and to share with them the memories I will cherish. Even though I am leaving you in a few months, Florida State will always be apart of me, and is something I will keep in my heart for the rest of my life. It is hard to put into words how much you mean to me and to all of us, but I hope this will do.

Love always,

An FSU Student

Miranda is a Senior at FSU pursuing a degree in Sports Management. Her interests mainly include sports, sports, and more sports although she was never the athlete (oops). Her love for sports balances out her girly ways. She can sit down and cheer on her favorite New York teams with just as much passion as buying a new top (on sale of course). She is absolutely obsessed with her puggle, scrolling Twitter, and sleeping in. She hopes to rule the sports world someday, own a baby elephant, live on the beach, and have a big family.
