Though short and sweet, Thanksgiving break is the one time when nearly every Wake student returns home to spend time with family. Sure, people travel all over for Christmas, Hanukah and every other wintertime holiday in between, but Thanksgiving is when we get together as big extended families (for better or for worse) and gorge on an atrocious amount of turkey, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie.
Fall is the best season to be a Demon Deacon. The leaves are changing, the Deacs are (somehow) winning, pumpkin spice lattes are back at Starbucks and it's time for Hit the Bricks.  Each year Wake students, faculty and staff gather on the Quad for a full day's relay race all to benefit cancer research.
Need something different for your date night?  How about some time off campus with the girls? An activity that guys and girls will love?  
Last week organizations, both old and new, all over campus held events to raise awareness for the homeless and impoverished in our community.  An event "Homeless is not Faceless," held in the Greene room last Wednesday and Thursday, brought attention to the issue in a creative way.  Students presented real-life testimonies, artwork and photos from local homeless men and women,
