The (Surprisingly Cool) Local Music Scene

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wake Forest chapter.

Need something different for your date night?  How about some time off campus with the girls? An activity that guys and girls will love?

Winston-Salem is a hub of up-and-coming musicians that perform regularly at venues such as Krankie’sElliot’s Revue, Ziggy’s, and The Garage.  The cover for many shows can be as low as $5, and oftentimes the minimum age is 18 (so the vast majority of Wake students can get in!).

The photos below show local band The Estrangers that performed on campus at the Barn.

Recently Krankie’s coffee has begun to release compilation CD’s that feature local talent and some good emerging musicians. Enjoy!
