If you haven't already realized, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month! It is a month of celebrating breast cancer survivors, supporting patients undergoing treatment, and paying tribute to the lives that breast cancer has taken from us. In honor of this month companies across all industries are showing their support with limited edition BCA products. You've already read about some BCA lip and nail products on Her Campus, but here are 3 more beauty awesome products whose proceeds go towards breast cancer research!

The Crane and Canopy eye pillow comes in a girly dotted pattern and contains lavender to help promote sleep and relaxation.  The bedding accessory comes in two shades of festive pink in celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness month. 50% of the proceeds from the $12 pillow will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, one of the largest Breast Cancer research foundations.

The Best New TV Shows

When Fall time rolls around school is not the only thing the season brings- our favorite television shows resume their seasons as well (and some end....unfortunatley in the case of Breaking Bad). Below we have included some of the hottest shows to look out for this season.

1.     Marvel’s Agents of Shield

Did you love The Avengers, but can’t wait until the sequel? Then you’re in luck because this show will give you a weekly fix of the people behind the superheroes. Agent Coulson (wait…didn’t he die?) leads a crack team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents to fight an Anonymous-like group, The Rising Tide. This show promises a nice mix of action-adventure and Joss Whedon’s typical sharp humor.

Premieres: September 24 at 8 PM on ABC.

2.     The Originals

This spinoff of The Vampire Diaries focuses on The Original family as they wrestle for control of New Orleans with some rival vamps. With a vibrant setting, a bigger focus on witches, and some new faces (helllooo Marcel!) this show is sure to draw an audience even from outside the TVD fandom.

Premieres: October 8 at 8 PM on The CW

3.     Sleepy Hollow

BeStyled Blow Dry Lounge: Get Treated Like A Princess

Need a quick fix for your hair on a college-girl budget? That’s what Alex, my co-president, and I were looking for last Thursday night before a night out in Boston. We ventured to Wellesley, Massachusetts to the new BeStyled Blow Dry Lounge.

We were seated instantly upon arrival by the bubbly staff and served up some scrumptious cappuccinos. For those of you unfamiliar with the concept of a blow dry bar it is precisely what it sounds like; imagine a traditional bar, but swap out the liquor for hair tools. We were seated in cushy chairs along a long white bar, each with our own iPads for entertainment. Sandra Bullock swept gracefully across a bigger screen as The Proposal played silently in the background. My hairdresser gave me a menu of multiple hair options to choose from and then I was whisked into the sweet-smelling shampoo station for a very-needed head massage. My hair was transformed quickly and painlessly as I nibbled on some yogurt-covered pretzels, while flicking through a virtual magazine from my now personal iPad. After 30 minutes – voila – I spun around to face the mirror and was enthused to find the no-wavy hairstyle that I had selected. My hair was not frizzy and lasted days. In addition, no flat iron was needed, which diminishes the damage that styling can inflict.

Thoughts On Being Pre-med

This article was written by Rebecca Lachs.

During the rush of meet-and-greet during orientation, if I wasn’t hearing “I’m IR”, then I was hearing “I’m going pre-med”. Being surrounded by so many people interested in the same career path you are is a little nerve-wracking (it’s so easy to get lost in the crowd!), but it’s comforting too (I won’t have to suffer through organic chemistry alone!).

It’s a little weird to have your future planned out eight years in advance, especially since many classmates don’t even know what they want to major in. And I definitely had to take a step back when they handed us the long list of classes required for med school. It’s kind of hard to believe to believe you can explore your options when you’re also being told you have to take a minimum of eight science courses and a math class while still fulfilling your distribution requirements. Before I felt like I had so much time, now four years doesn’t seem long enough!

The great thing about Tufts is that it has so many resources. I’ve already been to two seminars just on going pre-med, where I’ve gotten some good advice about classes I should take and experiences I should be looking for. The pre-health advising website has a ton of information and there are a million clubs that are great for pre-med students, such as the Pre-Medical Society, Pre-Dental Society, Pre-Vet Society, Pre-Health Society and Peer Health Exchange. I’m still nervous, but I’m confident that Tufts will help me achieve my dream of becoming a doctor.

Dorm Room Organization Tips For Your Beauty Supplies

Coming to college for most means living (at least at first) in a dorm- it is almost a rite of passage. But unfortunately with this rite of passage comes a serious limitation in space. Luckily there are some fun ways you can organize your beauty supplies, whether that be by presenting them for all to see in fun ways or tucking them away in compact cases.

Method 1: The Magical Bag

For collegiettes who prefer their beauty supplies hidden to the naked eye, the Mangano Better Beauty Case is a great find. It keeps your beauty supplies compact and easily accessible. The case consists of 4 clear detachable compartments for storage. It can be rolled flat when in use, and easily rolled back up again for storage. The case comes in several fun colors and can be purchased from the HSN website.

Method 2: The Hidden Drawer

Beauty Products Our Editors Loved This Week: Mascaras, Face Wash & more!

As collegiettes our days are very busy — we barely have time to use all the beauty products we have, never mind keep track of all the new ones hitting shelves.
