Sunkissed memories, caressing complection- and the time stops at first sight. The sun never forgets- like memories are faded as dreams and while you're perched upon the grassy hill, overlooking that place you called home. Overlooking every memory you had together, seeing not all- but more than you ever experienced. Fate's arms reached out, brought us together and now after time has passed- after others stomped on my doormat- after your heart was tested- we came back to each other- what's meant to be does. |
Cherishing Life Exhibit4/24/2012 |
Advances in science and healthcare have allowed people with life-threatening illnesses to live longer and healthier lives. But the outcomes of treatment are uncertain and the experience of living in-between a promise of prolonged life, and the possibility of illness reoccurring and progressing, is often misunderstood. |

Unique & Easy Easter Treats!4/15/2012 |
On Easter weekend I visited my family in Cloverdale and a collection of desserts filled the table after our ham & turkey feast. My two favorite desserts were my Mom's Bird's Nest and my Aunty's Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Crunch. AND THEY BOTH DON'T NEED COOKING! First, the Bird's Nest required: 2 cups- Regular Chow Mein Noodles Melt the chocolate in a microwavable bowl, once it's basically all melted together, mix in the chow mein noodles until they're fully coated. The mixture will be thick and easy to handle with your hands! Scoop a ball and lay it onto a cookie sheet, placing mini eggs in the center. Make any size you'd like and refrigerate until they're firm! Piece of cake! The Peanut Butter Crunch are another festive dessert you could use for any holiday. 2 cups- Chocolate Chips Melt the chocolate chips over the oven. While they are melting, in a seperate mixing bowl, whisk the peanut butter and sugar together until smooth. |

Lose that exam-stress fat!4/15/2012 |
Need to lose that weight from exam stress? We have a fast and easy combined ab and thigh workout that’ll give you results within an hour! The workout begins with a mat, and whether you’re trying this at home or gym you’ll want to gather a medicine ball (textbook can work) and LOTS OF WATER!!!! RELEASE THE FAT Once you’re all set up, you’re ready to begin; lay on the mat so you are comfy then start by doing a V-lean back with legs up. It will look like you’re going to fall on your back and- if it’s your first time-you just might. BANISHING BICYCLE The next ab workout is the seated bicycle. In the same position as above, you pedal your feet as if you’re on a bicycle and count down from a minute. Make sure you lean as far back as you can so you get the most out of the exercise. You’ll feel it in your thighs and abs-double whammy! SORRY SCISSORS Following the bicycle is the SORRY SCISSOR. You’ll be saying sorry to your abs after you finish these suckers I tell ya. The trick is to do it slowly at the start-it hurts the most but always think –RESULTS! One tip..make sure your legs get as close as they can to the ground but DO NOT TOUCH IT! FINITE FLAB |

UVic's Final Stress-AVOID IT3/29/2012 |
Finals are arriving—and there’s no turning back. It’s that time of year when you walk around the library for a solid half hour before you find a seat that has an outlet for your laptop. And while all of the studying is going on, the library food police are pacing each floor; just in case you want to whip out your sandwich you bought at the Biblio for $6 and take a bite. On top of all that, it’s the first sunny day at UVic, and it’s officially looking like spring. Who wants to sit in the library all day when you could be outside frolicking in the quad? I sure don’t. So-instead of studying inside why not have some fun. It’s the last few days of school and instead of dreading the finals, get out and enjoy your last few days in Victoria with some friends! (Unless of course you’re staying here, then, well, you can have fun afterwards). If you haven’t already done so-go to the Cinecenta. It’s only $3 for students after 9pm (c’mon honestly who goes before then anyway?). Go catch Mission Impossible 4 if you haven’t already seen it on April 1st & 2nd. Or the Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy if you’re in the mood for some Spielberg April 6-9th. |
Life is Too Short : Poem of the Week3/12/2012 |
If you aren't grateful; you haven't lived. If you have never forgiven; you're one step behind because without forgiving- you don't move forward- you freeze where time is timeless, where you go through life on auto-pilot. And everything you dream is too far away- your reach is too short. Instead of living you fail to try. And while the baggage yields your life- you keep walking backwards- moving further away from your dream. So while you can forgive, love, and don't take no for an answer. Make your own answers- and seize every moment of every day. Everyone deserves to be happy and everyone deserves to be loved and love to fulfill that happiness. Without trying you can't live without forgiving, you can't move on so forgive, love and live the way you want to live your life. Be grateful for everything you have and respect everything you don't. You really only have what you want because if you want something enough you have that urge to make it possible, never give up, cause your own life is meant to unfold and become just as amazing and possible as it is supposed to be. |
