Lose the Freshman 15: Working on my Mental Fitness

This is a sponsored feature. All opinions are 100% from Her Campus.

Hey collegiettes!

Since I’m finally over yesterday’s stressful day, thanks to oldies reruns, I’m determined to work on my mental fitness.

I’ve ben, or so I think, doing a great job keeping up with the excesses component of the Jump Start Diet–cardio, jump roping, plus this will be my first weekend working out! But something that I’ve definitely been slacking on is working out my mind (see: yesterday’s blog post) and melting away the stress.mental fitness

If the successes of the “Lose the Freshman 15” bloggers so far hasn’t yet inspired you to get fit and make exercise part of your daily routine, consider this little tidbit. According to SELF, being physically fit help “build new brain capacity and become more efficient and creative right away.”

I have a lot going on this weekend with school and my to-do list for homework and studying seems to grow by the hour, but I’m determined to have a stress-free weekend! Working hard in school, working out even harder at the gym will only come easy for me by not working out my mind too hard.

Making sure that I relax and have some downtime will be a high priority during my jam-packed weekend, but I know I can do it!

How do you relieve stress? Let me know! Leave a comment below, e-mail me at allylopez@hercampus.com or  Tweet  me (@allylopez).

If you’d like to join me in my healthy, happy weight loss (and please do), go register for the Jump Start Diet on SELF.com and be sure to use the SELF logs to keep track of your daily workout and meals, which is an awesome way to keep track of your calorie intake and how much you’re burning off!
