Hello again collegiettes™!
Today is my third day following SELF’s Jump Start Diet and unfortunately, I’ve already hit a slight bump in the road as far as my diet goes.
I knew I could have done better with the first day’s diet as far as going for healthier options goes, but hey, it was the first day, cut me some slack! Plus, I was in a rush that morning and didn’t plan out my meals as well as I would have liked to. But considering I’m following Jillian Michaels’s diet: I know for sure she wouldn’t have any of my excuses. With that in mind, I made an effort to write out my meals for the week in my planner, as well as pack and prepare said meals well in advance.
Yesterday’s (day two) meals included the following: a heavenly berry parfait for breakfast (243 cal.), a chicken baked potato (450 cal.) for lunch, which by the way was oh so good. I’m half Indian so it was easy for me to go home and talk my mother into making me five-spice shrimp for dinner (300 cal.). My snacks included a possibly-addictive bag of salt and vinegar popchips (100 cal.) and a JELL-O chocolate pudding (100 cal.)
But that previously mentioned “slight bump” wasn’t from my diet. With all this talk of food, you’re probably wondering “Hey, what about fitness?” Well, you see, I pulled an all nighter on Monday and…
Excuses, excuses, I know! I honestly meant to start some workout routine last night but I remembered GLEE was on so, you know how that goes, right? The last time I had a good work out I was 18-years-old. During my senior year of high school, I took a step aerobics class, in addition to running 2 miles everyday as part of my cheerleading workout. It’s been a few a years obviously.
I don’t expect to start running that much today or this week, but it is certainly a goal to reach for the end of this diet. For now, I’ll plan on sticking to toning my arms and abs–the problems areas. I was searching SELF‘s Web site for ideas, but if you’re glued to your phone like I am, don’t worry there’s an app for that!
I downloaded the SELF workout app for my iPhone—it comes complete with pictures, videos, and a log, and embarrassingly enough my log is empty… for now!
Today I’m planning on the same breakfast as yesterday, and for lunch I made tuna in a tomato wrap (280 cal.). Yum-a-dub! My boyfriend and I are making dinner tonight and I’m still deciding on what to make. Have any lean, delish suggestions for me to whip up this evening? Send me a tweet (@allylopez).
I’d love for you to join me in healthy, happy weight loss, so please go register for the Jump Start Diet on SELF.com and use the SELF logs to keep track of your diet! Let’s get it, ladies!
Love,
Ally
