Lose the Freshman 15: Preparing for a Healthy Spring Break

This is a sponsored feature. All opinions are 100% from Her Campus.

Happy Friday collegiettes™!

It’s officially my spring break, but with a diet setback earlier this week, I’m planning on being extra careful over the next week by making two promises to myself:

1. I will maintain a healthy diet as per the Jump Start Menu–breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner & dessert with 1,600 calories in my tummy each day.

2. I will make a conscious effort to get in a 45-minute cardio workout five days of the week at minimum.

I’m going to be thinking like a guy because according to a recent SELF article, “the male mind-set can help you hurdle small setbacks. Even in the face of setbacks, men believe they’re doing great and rarely doubt their ability to succeed.” 506699 26386772

I think my best bet is at least packing (and planning to purchase on location) healthy snacks to avoid the temptations of snacking on junk: Sargento string cheese, animal crackers, 100-calorie cookie packs, Greek yogurt packs, and popchips are all my best bets here!

Since I’ll be eating out a lot more than I usually do, I’m going to be doing research this weekend on places nearby that offer healthy, yummy meals.

I refuse to have another disappointing weigh-in!

If you’d like to join me in my healthy, happy weight loss (and please do), go register for the Jump Start Diet on SELF.com and be sure to use the SELF logs to keep track of your daily workout and meals, which is an awesome way to keep track of your calorie intake and how much you’re burning off!

What are you doing to have a healthy (or unhealthy) St. Paddy’s Day celebration? Let me know! Leave a comment below, e-mail me at allylopez@hercampus.com or  Tweet  me (@allylopez).
