If I continue at the rate I’m going at, I may just weigh nothing at the end of all of this. But I wouldn’t be opposed to that, really.
As you can probably guess, today was my first big weigh-in.
Now I don’t know if any of you have ever followed a strict diet that required you to weigh-in weekly, but I can remember back to my Weight Watcher days when I used to get SO nervous weighing-in, because there was always a chance that you didn’t lose any weight that week, or even worse, you gained weight! And in both of those instances, you literally felt like a failure for that week.
So today made me anxious as I hoped that my dieting and exercise efforts would pay off. I could feel my pulse race and my heartbeat quicken as I made my first steps toward the scale. Actually stepping on the scale and waiting for it to balance itself out was probably the most painful thing I have ever endured, because the results could have gone any way. Literally.
But have no fear, because we have a success story among us! I probably had one of the best weight loss weeks that I’ve ever had in my entire life. I’m actually still in shock about it.
Because in one short week, I lost SEVEN pounds. Yes, if you calculated that correctly, I lost the equivalent of one pound per day. I don’t know if I quite believe the scale, but they always say that the scale doesn’t lie, so let’s hope that today was no different!
If you’re wondering what I did to lose such a crazy amount in seven days, all I can say is that I strictly followed my diet and I worked out as much as my crazy busy schedule permitted. I’m not sure if I deserve this kind of success, but I’m definitely ectastic about it.
And I’m even happier about the fact that I am well on my way to my goal weight. I started at 159, and I’m down to 152 as of today. Which means I’ve lost almost half of the “Freshman 15”!
When all is said and done, I’d really, really, really like to reach 140. It’s been my goal weight for as long as I can remember, so I think it’s time that I finally make it happen.
But for now, I’m just SO hapy with the progress that I’m making and I’m definitely going to be riding the high that this weigh-in gave me all week long. I can’t wait to see even more pounds come off as I continue to follow the SELF Jumpstart Diet and work out daily!
It excites me to think about my future self, and I can’t wait to make her a reality.
