Lose the Freshman 15: Keeping Fit on the Go and Appreciating the Little Things

Hey Collegiettes!

So week one has come and gone and today was finally time for weigh in. I’m happy to report that I’m down one pound since the start of the program!

At first I was pretty disappointed in this number considering all the hard work I have put in during the last week, but then I thought about it logically. If I lose one pound per week for the remainder of the Freshman 15 program I will successfully reach my goal. Thinking about things this way really helped me to keep my head up and celebrate my accomplishments, however little they may be.

On another note, I wanted to share my experiences traveling to Boston this weekend with you guys! When I first left on Friday afternoon, I thought it was going to be pretty difficult to stick to the Self’s Drop 10 Plan, but it was actually much easier than I thought! I packed some great protein filled snacks for the ride to avoid rest stop temptations.

When I finally arrived in Beantown, I found that mapping out my meals would be pretty difficult. Because of this I chose to make healthy moderations to the Drop 10’s exact meal plan while incorporating their super foods, such as eggs, apples, yogurt, and olive oil.

And of course it was super easy to get my 45-plus minutes of cardio in by talking a walking tour of the city!

Making these modification allowed for a successful and healthy trip!

Just a quick reminder for all you DietBet people: the bet officially starts today! Be sure to head over to to keep tabs on your weight loss status!
