Christmas came early this year.
But I know you’re all dying to know how my visit with the doctor went, so I’ll explain that first.Â
I actually saw the doctor on Wednesday morning, but I just wanted to build the suspense a little and keep you all on the edge of your seats.Â
I’m very, very happy to report that my poor baby toe is most likely going to be fine! She may be bruised and she may be sore, but I think she’s going to make it after all.
And while the doctor may not have ordered a 13.1 mile run immediately, she did give me the go-ahead to start exercising, and that’s all the confirmation I was looking for.
I understand that it’s going to take a few days for the injury to heal itself, and I’m shying away from running on it for the next few days, but I can’t tell you how nice it felt to be back in the gym and back to exercising on Wednesday evening.
But what felt even better was coming home from campus yesterday night to find three packages awaiting my arrival! Two new pairs of running shoes, a ton of awesome work out gear (thanks New Balance!) and some delicious popchips.Â

I literally felt like I was celebrating Christmas in February. It was just that exciting.
And being the workout enthusiast that I am, I could hardly contain myself from ripping apart the packacking, putting on all of the great new gear and doing a quick little work out in the comfort of my own apartment.Â
So that’s exactly what I did.

The work out that I tried out was super easy and super fun, and I was able to utilize both the jump rope and 8 pound free weights that I convenietly have in my apartment. I went through some jumping rope sets, did some arm and leg strengthening sets with the weights and even did a little bit of abs before all was said and done.
The best part about the whole work out is that it’s geared to give you a bikini-ready body , which is exactly what I’m in need of as I get ready for my spring break cruise!

And of course, no work out is complete without a little post-sweat snackeroo to get your metabolism moving. So I enjoyed myself a bag of low-fat, low-calorie popchips.
I have one word: delicious. And definitely the best way to end a great workout in some great new gear.Â
Tomorrow I’m hoping to try out another SELF workout! But I’m also open to suggestions. Do any of you out there have a work out that you just love doing and you’d love to share with me? Send your suggestions my way and I’ll promise to try them out!
