Lose the Freshman 15: Honestly, I love Honest Tea

This is a sponsored feature. All opinions are 100% from Her Campus.

So this week has been hell for me. Or at least my own version of hell, as I’ve had three exams, a story due, two group assignments due, one scholarship essay due, one huge homework assignment due and only one thing on my mind: spring break.

As long as I make it through today, I’ll be home free to run my first-ever half marathon with one of my best friends and then set sail on the high seas for my first-ever cruise with four of my closest girl friends. It’ll be a week of firsts for me and I’m so emotionally, mentally and physically ready for all of it.IMG 3087
But of course I just had to have one of the most demanding school week’s of my life leading up to the break. Literally one of the only things that got me through this week was yet another surprise package that I received Tuesday afternoon. This one came in the form of five cases of deliciousness. More specifically, endless amounts of Honest Tea.

I’ll be honest when I say that before this, I had never heard of the tea. But boy, am I glad that we got introduced.

As an avid consumer of McDonalds’ sweet tea, which is something that definitely doesn’t fall under the Jumpstart Diet, I have been looking for a (healthy) way to satisfy my ceaseless sweet tooth and quench the cravings that I sporadically get for some good ol’ tea.

Thankfully, Honest Tea is just what the doctor ordered. The tea is organically made, high in antioxidants, low in caffeine (each bottle contains about 1/8 the caffeine of coffee) and literally DELICIOUS. Flavors range from white peach to honey green to mango green to pomegranate blue, and as someone who has sampled each flavor, I must admit that they’re all quite tastey. My personal favorite so far has been peach white.

It’s embarrassing to say, but these bottles of tea have pretty much been my sole companions the past few days as I’ve powered through schoolwork to reach the finish line of this brutal week. I’m just glad that each bottle of tea only contains 85 calories each so that I don’t feel guilty when I’m drinking two bottles a night as I struggle to stay awake while studying.

It’s been refreshing to have a healthy option that will give me the energy boost that I need during a late night of studying without having to resort to other forms of caffeine, as I NEVER drink coffee, and I vary rarely drink soda.

And the best part about the tea is that it’s cheap and sold nationwide! Those of you interested in trying out a bottle can locate a vendor in your hometown here, as they’re sold in most local grocery store chains. I’d definitely encourage all you tea enthusiasts out there to pick up a bottle and enjoy what this drink has to offer your tastebuds.

This tea hits the spot when you’re looking for a quick, sweet pick-me-up during the day or late at night, and it’s good…really good!

So here’s a cheer to you, Honest Tea – thanks for getting me through this rough week of late nights, early mornings and terrible tests! I owe you.
