726aa1ccMan, does my stomach feel like it’s been on a road trip and a half. While this weekend was very exciting venturing into the world of Southern cooking and food, my stomach is starting to feel the effects.

Addison’s mother is an amazing cook, and it was absolutely amazing getting to know his parents better this weekend. His mother made all sorts of amazing meals that had the whole family talking over at dinnertime.

But man, did my stomach go into shock. While I’ll miss her home cooking, it’s time for me to get back on track for my diet and hope that all the rich and delicious food I had over break didn’t cause me to slip backward in my diet too much.

The Jump Start Diet is definitely perfect for getting back on track no matter what stage of the dieting process you’re in. Focusing on fresh fruits and vegetables like the diet recommends really helps detox your system and get you on the right track.

Today I made an amazing fruit salad for breakfast out of the strawberries Addison and I picked over break. For snack, I enjoyed my favorite carrot sticks and hummus.

Fresh food is definitely the key to a healthy diet. It may be a big leap for those not used to cooking, but you can always start small. Start packing apples or clementines in your backpack for a quick grab-and-go snack. Start slicing bananas or strawberries in your morning fiber cereal.

It really isn’t that hard to start making good habits.
