Happy St. Patrick’s Day collegiettes™!
On a day where everyone is Irish and celebrates by wearing green, eating corned beef and cabbage, and shamrocking the night away with a few green beers, it might be a day where it’s easy to slip up on a diet.
Not today!
With my final mid-term turned in this afternoon, and my diet setback earlier this week in mind, today’s traditional celebrations of day fratting with friends isn’t happening.
It’s St. Patrick’s Day and officially the start of my spring break, but I’m thinking like a guy because according to a recent SELF article, “the male mind-set can help you hurdle small setbacks. Even in the face of setbacks, men believe they’re doing great and rarely doubt their ability to succeed.”
Part of that guy-like mindset when it comes to fitness and exercise is having a one-track mind–sole focus on my pot of gold at the end of my Jump Start Diet rainbow. That pot of gold, of course, is a healthier, happier version of moi and though I can see it it in my future, my journey is only going to be longer with celebrating today.
I have on my green, but more importantly, plenty of greens on my plate today so that’s celebration enough. I’m staying focused, especially with my upcoming trip to San Diego for spring break. It’s going to get a little tougher but I’m ready ladies!
If you’d like to join me in my healthy, happy weight loss (and please do), go register for the Jump Start Diet on SELF.com and be sure to use the SELF logs to keep track of your daily workout and meals, which is an awesome way to keep track of your calorie intake and how much you’re burning off!
