How many times have you heard “there’s an app for that!”? From personal experience I can say that it’s one of my favorite things to hear. I am continually impressed by the seemingly endless options for mindless entertainment (and a little bit of productivity) that my IPhone affords me.
With spring blooming all around us and spring break on our minds, I am reminded of a beauty issue that arises each time the seasons change and/or I return from a trip to the beach. What foundation shade am I supposed to wear? My winter foundation (thankfully) looks ridiculous when I’m nicely bronzed but my end-of-summer foundation makes me look like an oompa-loompa at the end of my first beach trip of the season. So how do you find the perfect foundation shade for you right now? Wait for it… there’s an app for that!
L’Oreal Paris released the True Match app that helps you find your perfect true match shade (don’t have an iphone? You can test it out it here). The app takes you through questions like “How does your skin react to sun exposure?” and “Look at the inside of your wrist. What color are your veins?” Ultimately, the app helps you determine whether you have cool, warm, or neutral undertones to your skin then helps you pick the right shade of True Match foundation.
I picked up N3 Natural Buff foundation and pressed powder at my local CVS.
Here I am pre-application. I was crossing my fingers that the True Match app had actually helped me find my true match foundation shade!
As I applied the foundation I was pleased with the blendability and the match to my skin shade. The foundation is oil free and has spf 17 in it so I didn’t have to worry about clogged pores or having to add another layer of sun protection.

The True Match Matchmaker App allows you to find your precise True Match shade by determining your unique undertone and depth through a series of focused questions. Once you find your True Match shade you will be able to use the store locator feature to see which stores carry your shade as well as see who your celebrity undertone match is and get other product recommendations based on your unique shade!
