You Won’t Believe What These Jeans Are Made Of

Believe it or not, coffee can do more than keep us awake after all nighters and get us through those crazy long days. American Eagle discovered that coffee can be used as an ingredient in your jeans!

Starting October 15, AE will sell jeans in stores and online made out of recycled coffee grounds; 2.25 grams in each pair, to be exact. The collection, known as Denim X Café for women and Denim Flex Café for men, will feature coffee ground-infused jeans priced from $49.95 to $59.95. The company announced the release on Instagram in honor of National Coffee Day. Celebrities such as Hilary Duff and Vanessa Hudgens sported a pair of jeans from this collection when it was first announced.

Why coffee? This randomly remarkable ingredient has the power to naturally absorb odors and can dry quickly, American Eagle’s senior director of design Helen Kang told Refinery 29. The jeans don’t actually smell like coffee, according to Racked

This new collection means your dreams have come true—less laundry! You can get away with wearing these jeans multiple times before washing them. As an added bonus, the coffee grounds can reflect UV rays, protecting you from the sun. Coffee is even more of a lifesaver than we thought.
