The internet of 2017 is still just as immature, but at least they internet clapped back in the funniest way possible––with makeup lovers everywhere not only explaining that the suggestion itself has misogynistic undertones, but that the people suggesting it were idiots for not knowing that waterproof makeup exists.
Beauty gurus, like NikkieTutorials, showed the world that swimming was no match for the power of makeup, demonstrating that even the most “caked” face could withstand the misogyny with the right techniques and products. Bow down.
Recently, Instagram vlogger @meplusfashion took the whole thing one step further, creating a tutorial of makeup that doesn’t just withstand the water, but can be done completely ~in~ the water.
I can barley do my eyebrows after a good night’s sleep, in proper lighting, using name brand products, so to me this is pretty impressive. I’m not the only one who’s floored by this underwater tutorial, as the video has amassed over a million views on Instagram.
I think we may have found the first girl who actually wants to go swimming on the first date––but just don’t expect her to be ready beforehand.
