Gigi Hadid and Kate Moss, despite their significant gap in age and modeling experience, have both reached “icon” status, becoming household names in the process. Besides their signature blonde hair, the two models have a lot in common, such as the fact that they have both been the face of Stuart Weitzman’s advertisements over the past few years.
Moss starred in the brand’s advertisements until mid-2014, and Hadid took over the coveted position shortly after that. However, Weitzman has brought them both back for 2018 — and the results are stunning.
The two look like they could be mother and daughter, or better yet, sisters (I need to know what eye cream Kate Moss uses). However, Weitzman’s justification for featuring both models in this campaign goes beyond just wanting to sell shoes. “With a nod to Stuart Weitzman’s legendary past campaigns and a look into the brand’s exciting future, the international supermodel pairing captures the essence of strong, powerful women,” Weitzman said in a press release.
Not only does this message perpetuate the idea that you can look good, and stylish, at any age, and that women of all ages should be celebrated, but it hints that the brand, like these two models, are timeless and ageless. Weitzman is known for both his beautiful classic shoes and styles that are up to date with the current trends, making the brand a one-stop shop for all of the shoes you need (and want).
Gigi Hadid has already styled more than one shoe capsule collection for the brand, and if this campaign with the legendary Kate Moss is any indication, its that we’ll never know what surprise she’ll have with the brand next.
