What’s in My Makeup Bag: Beauty Blogger Samantha

Wearing makeup may not always be fun for everyone, but for all us beauty enthusiasts, it’s the best part of the morning. Even though waking up early is never my favorite part of the day, sitting at my vanity and beginning my routine is. My current makeup rotation is what I’ve stuck to now that the weather has gotten colder—and I’m obsessed, so keep reading to check it all out!

Face

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in Ceylan, $45, narscosmetics.com

When I discovered this foundation I was a little unsure of the light color (I was in denial of my lost summer tan!), but when I blended it into my skin, it came out perfect! The “sheer glow” part of the name is on point! It keeps my tired skin looking awake and fresh all day long.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Concealer, $22, tarte.com

This concealer has been my finals lifesaver. When I’d have to be up all night studying and would wake up the next day with a stress breakout, this concealer hid it all! The coverage is pretty opaque and I never have to worry about redness showing through.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles, $10, maybelline.com

I usually use two different concealers for my face, and this is my second go-to. I try not to use such a heavy coverage under my eyes so it doesn’t crease throughout the day; this Maybelline concealer made for under-eye bags is perfect! After applying this I blend it out with a Beauty Blender and then get ready to set everything.

Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Loose Powder Foundation in Nude, $12, neutrogena.com

To make sure all of the liquid makeup I have already blended in stays put throughout my day, I sweep some of this loose powder in my T-zone. I focus mostly under my eyes, nose, chin and forehead (all the places that start getting shiny by the afternoon).

Tarte Park Ave Princess Contour Palette, $34, tartecosmetics.com

This is a serious must-have. The bronzer is a product I’ve loved for a very long time and its color gives me the perfect bronzy glow. It’s not too red, not too grey and not too muddy-looking. I do some very light contouring with the bronzer under my cheekbones and on my temples to accentuate my sharper face lines.

Tarte Chic to Cheek Deluxe Amazonian Clay Blush Set, $35, tartecosmetics.com

Blush has always been my makeup BFF for as long as I can remember and this one is no exception. I love how much different blush colors can change up a look and this one specifically is the best, most long-lasting everyday color.

Eyes

NARS Pro-Prime™ Smudg Proof Eyeshadow Base, $25, narscosmetics.com

Most of the time I wear a little bit of eyeshadow and my eyes usually refuse to hold the pigment all day. To make sure it’s as bright as it looks in the palette, I put some primer on my eyelids to prep them for the shadow.

Benefit Gimme Brow, $22, benefitcosmetics.com

This has easily been my holy grail item thus far. Doing my eyebrows was never the easy part of my routine, so when I found this product I fell in (makeup) love. My eyebrow game has been strong with this little trickster—I just sweep it over my brows and it adds color, thickness and hold all in a few strokes!

Lorac Pro Eye Shadow Palette 2, $42, loraccosmetics.com

To add some depth to my eyes, I brush some of the light brown color (second from the left in the top row) in my crease and that’s it! I keep it pretty simple with my eyes on a typical day because 1) I’m a little lazy and 2) this color is so gorgeous it does so much on its own.

Topshop Eyelash Curler, $10, topshop.com and Maybelline The Rocket Volum’ Express Mascara, $8, maybelline.com

After curling my lashes with the Topshop curler, I brush some of this gorgeous mascara on. I have long lashes thanks to my family’s genetics (thanks, Mom and Dad!), but it’s hard to find mascara that doesn’t clump them together. This one is the right match and is so easy to apply that I haven’t been able to stop using it for over a year now.

Lips

Dior Addict Fluid Stick in 754 Pandore, $35, dior.com

A shocking red color is the perfect pick-me-up on any day. Whenever I’m feeling exhausted, stressed or just not my best, this lipstick makes everything better. Red lip products used to terrify me, until I found this lip gloss. It goes on so smoothly and lasts for hours even though it’s not entirely a stain. It’s really a gorgeous everyday product that finishes up my entire look.

Have you used any of these products before? Let me know what you think of them or if you have any everyday items you’re currently obsessed with, too!
