Whether you’re a college student going to school full-time or a busy working lady, we can all relate to being a girl on the go. I’ve picked up a few tricks and essentials for those jam-packed days where you just can’t deal. I always keep a makeup bag full of my essentials in my purse (or in my car if it doesn’t fit). Here’s what’s inside.
Hair ties and bobby pins
I can’t survive without them! I usually throw my hair in a messy bun or braid mid-day when it starts to get in my way.
Hair oils
I love the Nexxus Oil Infinite Hair Oil, especially when I am in the humidity or my hair is feeling dry. It’s my favorite quick fix for taming the waves and reducing the frizz when I want to wear my hair down. It’s also perfect for when I want to embrace the messy look with a bun (with a little more control). This smooths those loose flyaways and adds moisture to my hair without making it feel greasy. I use this stuff daily, whether it’s on my damp or dry hair.
Quick Tip: For dry hair, use conservatively — a little goes a long way. For wet hair, I use about 2-3 pumps prior to blow-drying my hair.
Lipstick
Lipstick always makes you feel a little more put together. In the summer, I love hot pink shades. This Marc Jacobs lipstick is a favorite, along with MAC’s Candy Yum Yum.
Blush and bronzer
Aside from lipstick and concealer, blush and bronzer are really the only makeup pieces I keep with me all the time. Whether you just got out of the pool or are feeling a little rundown, a touch of bronzer or blush on the cheeks gives some color to your face for that fresh sun-kissed look.
Concealer
My friend introduced me to this concealer a few months ago and I swear by it. It’s a little pricey, but totally worth it.
Sunglasses
Honestly, I rarely do my eye makeup — I just don’t have time for it. Sunglasses are a girl’s best friend for hiding those dark circles. See some of my favorite glasses I’m loving right now here and here.
