Ms. Swift always has something up her sleeve to keep fans guessing her next move! Though she’s extended her phenomenal Eras Tour until November 2024, she’s taken some time to catch up with new friends, such as Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. The unofficial pair were spotted together for the first time leaving a Chiefs game on Sept. 24. One week later, Swift attended Kelce’s game again, this time in New York against the Jets on Oct. 1. Though Swift’s relationships are always fun to see in public, Swift’s recent fashion choices have left even the most dedicated Swifties spiraling in the hopes of an upcoming announcement for the reputation (Taylor’s Version) release.
The most recent Chiefs game had fans glued to their screens, and part of it had to do with the Easter egg that Swift was wearing. She wore an all-black top, studded shorts, and signature red lipstick with a leather jacket. It may have seemed like a casual outfit to many, but some Swifties caught on to the notably dark aesthetic. This wasn’t the first time Swift wore an all-black look this year. For the VMAs on Sept. 12, she was stunning in an all-black, thigh-high slit gown by Versace. There was also some speculation on TikTok that one of the necklaces she wore on the red carpet was the choker she wore on the reputation album cover. Most of her looks during that era were dark and vampy, and fans across Twitter could not contain their excitement to see another hint at the upcoming reputation (TV) album, which is bound to be announced soon.
At the VMAs, during her acceptance speech for her ninth and final award of the evening, Swift accepted the award for Best Pop Music Video for “Anti-Hero.” She mentioned her unwavering love of country music, making music videos, her devoted fans, and how she’s been “slinking around different genres.” The word “slinking” is typically used to describe the slithering manner in which snakes move. As fans know, reputation was widely known for using snake imagery during its release. Could this have been another Easter egg to prove that the re-release of reputation is on its way?!
If you’re anything like me, you’re impatiently waiting for the release of 1989 (Taylor’s version), which will be released on Oct. 27. After that, reputation is slated to be the next album on the docket. Swifties everywhere, prepare to make a few dozen more friendship bracelets. Ms. Swift is returning with a vengeance!
