New York Fashion Week has started off with a frankly tear-jerking and empowering bang, thanks to Queen Rihanna. Rihanna’s highly anticipated lingerie line, a collaboration with Fenty and Savage, has finally debuted with an incredible fashion show featuring women of all shapes and sizes. Last Wednesday night, Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty lingerie fashion show featured women of different ethnicities and body types, showing off the line’s aim to deliver sexy lingerie to a greater range of women. Pregnant models took the runway as well, letting audiences know that mothers, too, are beautiful and sexy in every form of their own body.
The show was mesmerizing, presented with a garden theme, making the models stand out as the beautiful flora in their colorful lingerie pieces. The models not only strutted across the garden stage, but they posed and danced gracefully. The choreography brought Rihanna’s pieces to life, but also allowed all those different women to proudly and boldly illustrate their own individual beauty. The show, combined with its natural imagery and tribal sisterhood choreography, was a fashion spectacle like no other. To top it off, many familiar famous faces modeled at the show as well, including Bella and Gigi Hadid, Joan Smalls, and Duckie Thot. Instagram was especially hyped over the colors and designs of the new lingerie line.
As if the sheer beauty of the Savage x Fenty lingerie pieces weren’t enough to be excited about, people were raving over the size inclusiveness, looking to the beautiful models as inspiration.
