Midi skirts took the fashion world by storm this summer and they have become a trend that I’m not willing to give up on just yet  — and I don’t have to. Pleated skirts are having their time to shine and will definitely be a staple in my closet this fall. These maxi skirts come in the patterns and colors that we all know and love, but add some length and sophistication to your fit.

Whether you’re killing it at your internship, at dinner with the gals, or going on a ~totally fall~ date, there’s a pleated skirt for any occasion. The best part about the season of maxi skirts is that they can be worn with a solid bootie to dress it up or your favorite chunky sneakers for a casual daytime look. Leggings and an oversized hoodie are a fall favorite, but here are six pleated maxi skirts for when you feel like mixing it up.

Summer leopard, but make it fall

Mono Leopard Satin Pleat Midi Skirt, ASOS, $56; shop now

This pleated leopard skirt is a fall take on the oh-so-famous cheetah midi skirt. Pair this skirt with a graphic tee and a leather jacket and you’ve got yourself the perfect trendy fall fit.

A splash of color

Twisted Wunder Pleated Skirt in Abstract Print, ASOS, $72; shop now

If you’re over the leopard (can’t relate), maybe go for a more abstract and colorful print. This print is more mature and is great for a day in the office.

Perfectly plum

Domi Midi Skirt, Anthropologie, $110; shop now

Going for a dark purple pleated skirt screams fall, and I’m totally here for it. Throw your favorite neutral chunky sweater on top to complete the fall look.

Belt it up

Belted Pleated Skirt, Zara, $70; shop now

A built in accessory? Yes please. This black belted skirt could be made casual or dressed up for a night in the city.

Loving lace

Party’s Over Tier Lace Midi, Nasty Gal, $50; shop now

The vintage look to this skirt makes it the best for a romantic fall day. Wearing this skirt with a warm sweater and booties will give you all the cozy vibes while still being dressed up.

Fall szn staple

Cutabout Pleat Skirt in Check, ASOS, $48; shop now

Take a twist on the classic fall plaid skirt. I love a plaid flannel skirt for the colder season, but this midi skirt might take its place.

There is a world of colors and prints when it comes to pleated skirts. Choose one (or many) that suit your style and make them the star of your fall season.
