Happy rush season! August is officially here, which means college students everywhere are headed back to campus and getting back into their routines. And for many, this also means getting ready for sorority recruitment. If you’re like me, your For You Page is already flooded with RushTok videos, and PNMs and members alike showing their outfits for sorority recruitment.
You may have also noticed sorority recruitment fashion can vary a lot from campus to campus. A PNM on the East Coast may not necessarily pick the same outfit for fall rush that a PNM in the South might. And if you’re planning on going back-to-school shopping, you’ll want to be caught up with what outfit formula you should be shopping for. Of course, what you wear for fall rush this year should ultimately make you feel comfortable and confident while following your school’s recruitment guidelines. But your school’s region can be a great place to start when looking for inspiration. Whether you’re rushing in the South and Southeast, Midwest, East Coast and Mid-Atlantic, or West and Southwest, here are some fall rush 2026 outfit ideas based on where you go to school.
West & Southwest
In the West and Southwest, there are rush outfits with lots of bright colors and clean looks. If you head to UT Austin, you might see people rushing in cowgirl boots and mini skirts, and if you’re rushing in California, you may see long dresses and kitten heels.
Mid-Atlantic & East Coast
If you’re rushing on the East Coast or in the Mid-Atlantic region, you may run into capris and pastel colors. Yet, east coasters may still keep the tradition of a fun fluff skirt at recruitment.
Midwest
Midwest rush style is keeping things playful this fall, with polka dots popping up across recruitment looks.
South & Southeast
At schools like the University of Alabama and Florida State University, bright colors are everywhere — especially pinks and other playful shades. Mini dresses and mini skirts are also popular, along with feminine details like frills. Since August in the South still means seriously warm weather, sandals and heels pair naturally with these shorter, lightweight looks. There’s also room for a more casual, sporty approach, with athleisure making an appearance among the dressier outfits.
