I love when a celebrity is photographed wearing something I own. How many times has this happened? Like two (and once when I was borrowing my sorority sister’s Alice + Olivia dress, so that doesn’t really count).
But the one time it happened with my own clothes, was with Selena Gomez, in a long-sleeved Free People shirt. I was thrilled. I loved this shirt already, but it definitely made me feel a little more special that such a fashionable celebrity was wearing it.
The 19-year-old, with her flawlessly natural makeup, and absolutely to die for hair, manages to consistently look beautiful on a day-to-day basis.
She wears her accessible clothes confidently and beautifully. I don’t think she has ever been on a worst dressed list.
To me, Selena Gomez is a perfectly attainable celebrity in terms of fashion sense. She wears clothes you can buy at the mall. And while I admire and respect celebrities who wear the highest of high end labels, whom for every gown they wear, a designer made just for them, I simply can’t relate. So I get weary and jealous and turn to a celebrity who has a closet I would love to raid for my everyday, casual life. And that celebrity is Selena.
While on a normal day (and normal for her means date with Justin Bieber) Selena looks like she could step on to any college campus and just be another (gorgeous) girl at school, when she glams up, the girl glams up.

She looked so glamorous, so put-together, so mature, and yet still had a youthful thing going on. And most of all, unlike so many celebrities her age, she didn’t look trashy.
Another one of my favorite looks of Selena’s is from this year’s Kid’s Choice Awards.
Her look — the outfit and the makeup — is so carefree. And she couldn’t look happier! Look at how glow-y she is! I love her dark eyes and nude-like lipstick. This is the sort of outfit I’d love to have, and be able to rock as well as she does.
Even on the beach, Selena looks absolutely gorgeous. Now if that isn’t something to envy, I don’t know what is. What a lucky guy Bieber is. It’s totally understandable why he would choose her, out of every single girl dying to be with him.
