Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim Begins Today In Miami

It’s just a few short hours away from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim and things are definitely starting to heat up! Models, designers, celebrities, and various fashion industry fixtures have descended upon Miami and will soon make their way to the tents at The Raleigh, an iconic hotel on Miami Beach.

The Raleigh will show some great lines like Mara Hoffman Swim. Hoffman tends to play with prints and gets her ideas from indigenous art and nature. It’s always fun, daring, and perfect for collegiettes to draw inspiration from.

As the main venue, The Raleigh will host over 25 different shows, however, there will be tons of other events happening around the city. For example, Style.com recently profiled model and swimwear designer, Tori Praver. Praver mentioned she will be showing her Resort ’13 collection during Swim Week at The Webster (you might know the store through their recent collaboration with Target). If Praver’s upcoming swim line is anything like her last then collegiettes are in for a treat. As a past swimwear model, she knows what is most comfortable and what looks the most flattering.

Although Swim Week isn’t on the typical ‘fashion week circuit,’ it still has great collections from many talented designers. Each show is so different and any collegiette will be sure to find some great inspiration for their summer wardrobe! Stay up to date by checking out the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim website between July 19th and July 23rd!

Although she is originally from Orlando, Florida, Brooke Kamenoff wanted to leave behind the warmth and sun to experience a real, snowy winter at Northeastern University. Currently a sophomore, she is working towards a degree in International Business with a focus on Spanish. Brooke is involved in the fashion club, language classes (both Spanish and French), and the newspaper on campus. In high school, she served as academic editor and then editor-in-chief of her school's yearbook, which sparked her interest in journalism and media. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, perusing fashion blogs, discovering new music, and watching her favorite TV shows online.
