In a much anticipated expansion beyond their red carpet clientel, Marchesa’s Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig launched their new, lower-priced line, Marchesa Voyage, at the Gramercy Park Hotel rooftop on August 15th.

The contemporary collection, designed for the “global minded woman”, features exotic embroidery, embellishments, and prints in a way that conveys what Chapman describes as “a very much relaxed attitude…We’ve always wanted…a lifestyle brand and this is a very natural progression for us.” Though the collection focuses on daywear, it has a versatility that enables most pieces to be readapted for the evening.  Craig explained,“Whether you’re travelling on a plane, going to work or packing a suitcase for a far off exotic adventure – those every day pieces that you can wear day to night.”

Most pieces in the collection, such as the stand out sequined shift dress Chapman herself wore to the launch, have already begun to arrive in stores such as Saks, Bloomingdale’s, and Neiman Marcus this week, with prices ranging from $260-$1,000.  Chapman commented “I think this collection naturally lends itself toward that price point. This is day clothing – it’s easy clothing… That our partners could achieve that at this price point, that’s really exciting to us.”
