MAC has always been one of my favorite makeup brands and I was so excited when I found out they were collaborating with Disney to create a limited edition collection: Venomous Villains. What’s better than Disney and makeup?

“A MAC and Disney collaboration to celebrate the dark side in every one of us, in a glamorous sort of way. Who’s the fairest one of all? Four separate mini-collections, in haute animated couture. The incomparable Cruella De Vil and Snow White’s Evil Queen are dazzlingly devilish; Sleeping Beauty’s Maleficent and The Princess and the Frog’s DR. FACILIER, both up to no good on their own. Uniquely designed iconic packaging you will kill for, cunning characters and bedeviled beauties that are so alluring, you can’t help but wonder what it would be like to be one!”

Katie’s purchases:
Due to my very small makeup budget, I limited myself to purchasing only four items from the collection. I decided on:

  • Dr. Facilier Greasepaint Stick in French Quarter
  • Evil Queen Lipstick in Toxic Tale
  • Maleficent Nail Polish in Bad Fair
  • Evil Queen Lipglass in Strange Potion

Thanks to a mistake in my billing address (don’t you hate it when that happens?) I was only able to acquire the lipstick and greasepaint stick due to the high demand of the products.

I received my products in the mail about a week ago and I’ve used them both a few times. Here’s what I think:

Toxic Tale Lipstick
This lipstick is by far one of my new favorites. I usually stick with neutral pinks and corals so the bright fushia coral color of toxic tale is definitely out of my comfort zone. This lipstick can be worn for both day and night looks. You can apply just a little for a subtle lipcolor or sweep it across your lips for a dramatic look. I like wearing toxic tale with a neutral brown smokey eye (you don’t want to overpower the bright lips with a dramatic eye look)

As far as texture the formula is creamy and has not dried out my lips. It is also very long lasting. I’ve noticed it still on my lips after 4-5 hours of wear. Overall I’d give it a 5/5 for its bright, pigmented color, wearability, and smooth formula.

French Quarter Greasepaint Stick
Think of this product as a very thick eyeliner or eyeshadow in stick form. I love this product because I can easily sweep it across my eyelid and smudge it out for a quick smokey eye or use it as a black eyeliner with a glittery touch.

So far I’ve only used this product for night looks and I’ve been very impressed. It definitely does the job if you’re looking to create dramatic night looks. The formula is creamy so it glides on smooth. It’s easy to smudge with either a brush or your finger. It also comes off much easier than many black eyeliners I’ve used in the past.
The stick itself is thick so if you’re looking for an eyeliner this may not be the right product for you. Both times I’ve used it as an eyeliner, the line was both dark and thicker than what a normal black eyeliner would be (however I was going for a dramatic look so I was happy with the result)

Overall I think this product is a perfect tool for any collegiette. I can see myself packing this greasepaint stick in my clutch and using it on a night out. It’s small and you can easily whip it out to touch up your makeup. This is also the perfect product if you want to take your look from day to night. Create a thick line across your lid and smudge it out with your finger to create an easy smokey eye. 4/5 for its usability, size, and smooth formula.
