Kate Middleton Reportedly Says “No” to Vogue

Ever since Kate Middleton began sporting her sapphire engagement ring last November, formerly belonging to Princess Diana, she has been dubbed a “style icon” worldwide.

Middleton’s style has been both admired and criticized in the global media market. Recently, there have been rumors circulating among royal sources that the Duchess of Cambridge has declined to participate in a photo shoot for Vogue.

Both Kate and Prince William, not to mention Queen Elizabeth, feel it is not a good idea to further encourage the notion of Middleton’s status as a fashion icon.

“That’s not what they are about and they take their royal duties far too seriously to, in one sense, trivialize them,” a palace aide told E! News.

Under the watchful (and discerning) eye of the royal family, Middleton has to maintain a balance between camera-ready and cover model.

Whether or not the Queen would disapprove of Anna Wintour’s vision of Middleton gracing the reputable cover of Vogue, it is unlikely Middleton will shake her “style icon” standing any time soon.
