I Love The Lingerie-As-Streetwear Trend, But How Do I Actually Wear It IRL? I Investigate

Who says lingerie is just for under your clothes? In our opinion, it’s unfair that some of our prettiest pieces never get to see the light of day. Enter: the lingerie-as-streetwear trend. Lately, everyone from Gigi Hadid to Olivia Culpo have been spotted tying lingerie into their everyday looks.

From layering lingerie under anything from a suit to a gown, there are countless ways to incorporate lingerie into all of your outfits. Below, we’ve curated some of our favorite looks to give you some inspiration (and make you want to throw out all of your normal clothes and just wear lingerie forever):

We love blogger Katie Sands’ lacy black bra layered underneath silky separates. It’s a softer take on the power suit and practically screams business meets boudoir.

We are obsessed with Chrissy Teigen’s lacy blue bodysuit layered over her black bralette. The baggy black trousers tone it down so the look isn’t too much. We can totally see ourselves wearing this outfit on our next G.N.O.

Coachella chic

Romee Strijd looks ready for Coachella in her lacy bra and cheetah print kimono. To achieve a similar look, just pair a longline bra with jeans and add a layer on top. If her low rise jeans feel like too much for you, simply switch them out for a higher waisted pair.

Leather layering

The lingerie trend is so easy to nail when you know how to layer. Try layering an unexpected leather bralette over a sheer top for a daring AF look.

Worried about what to wear under a low cut dress? Take a cue from Josephine Skriver and pair it with your prettiest lacy bra.

Chiara Ferragni’s black bodysuit looks so good paired with black skinny jeans. Pull a similar bodysuit from your closet or try a lacy one for a softer look.

It’s time to breathe new life into your wardrobe by incorporating lingerie into your everyday look. It’s so easy to dress up or down and doesn’t have to look over the top sexy. We don’t know about you, but we can’t wait to take our lingerie to the streets.
