How to Keep Your Hair Moisturized This Fall

This is a sponsored feature. All opinions are 100% from Her Campus.

Autumn is almost here! And while that means a lot of our favorite things – like colorful leaves, pumpkins, and cozy nights in with our besties – it also means colder weather drying out our hair. But instead of being frustrated by a dry, itchy scalp or dull ends, use it as an excuse to treat yourself and add new, hydrating products to your hair care routine. Luckily, Ulta Beauty has so many great options that help put moisture back into your roots so you can rock shiny, healthy hair all semester long.

Shampoo and Conditioner

The next time you’re doing a shower haul, it’s important to choose a shampoo and conditioner based on the ingredients, especially when your goal is to gain more moisture because certain ingredients – like silicones and alcohols – will dry your hair out. I usually try to look for shampoos that are clarifying, restorative, or detoxing because they’re great at removing excess buildup before I apply moisturizing products.

Scalp Care

If your scalp needs a little TLC, there are many options for scalp treatments that you can use depending on your concerns – like a scalp scrub, an apple cider rinse, and a scalp brush! I personally love this hair hack because it helps eliminate dandruff and exfoliates my scalp, leaving my hair feeling refreshed without it feeling stripped.

Hair Mask

Hair masks and deep conditioners – especially ones with a high water content – are a great way to add moisture to your hair when it’s feeling dry! Once my deep conditioner is massaged in, I detangle my hair so it’s easy to comb through when applying my hair mask.

Leave-In Products

To really make sure you’re sealing in all the moisture, I recommend using a leave-in conditioner, oil, serum, or cream. It’s easy to add when you’re styling your hair or getting ready to head outside!

Thanks to these moisturizing products, the cold air has nothing on your hydrated hair! Now you can enjoy all your fall faves without worrying about having dry hair or dandruff.
