The Peekaboo Bra Is Back, & Here’s How To Style The Trend

Peekaboo! The newest bra trend is here. Underwear is seemingly becoming outerwear again with the peekaboo bra trend. And, TBH, it’s kind of the best time of year to try this trend out because it’s the perfect mix of summer and fall-style vibes.

While so many people have tried hiding bra straps, experimenting with boob tape, or even freeing the nipple altogether, these exposed bras are distinctly intentional and free of any accidental or wardrobe malfunction implications. In fact, showcasing your bra under your top or dress has now become fashionable, too.

A purposely-exposed bra is officially stylish and sophisticated. This dramatic yet low-key lingerie look isn’t entirely new, but this new take allows you to embrace the style without revealing too much. Some bras are designed to be seen, and you should give your rhinestone, lace, contrasting color, or fun patterned bra the spotlight. Plus, showing off your bra — whether it’s on a hot date night or the first GNO of the semester — has never been easier. Here are four ways you can recreate this stunning statement look at home.

Tube Top

Simply try layering a strapless top over your most adorable lingerie. Start by selecting a basic, solid-color tube top that either complements or contrasts your peekaboo bra. Pick a bra with interesting details, like lace or embroidery, to add some texture and visual interest to your top choice. Make sure that your top is slightly fitted to showcase the peekaboo detail, and wear it slightly lower on your torso to expose the bra’s straps or back. Complete the rest of the look with high-waisted jeans or a skirt. Accessorize with layered necklaces to draw more attention to your peeking bra.

Dress

Break the traditional fashion rules by creating a contrast between the delicate, feminine nature of a dress and the striking, fashionable statement behind the exposed bra. Like Cady Heron’s black and pink pleather dress featuring a bright red bra in Mean Girls, opt for a bra with unique details or a pop of color to make it the focal point of your outfit. Choose either a solid color or a trendy-patterned dress that complements the bra you want to expose. Try different dress styles, cuts, and lengths to create different ways to showcase an exposed bra. For example, a low-cut dress can reveal the bra cups, while a backless dress can highlight a decorative or interesting bra strap design.

Mesh

Try anything sheer to show off your bra underneath. Mesh fabric is light and transparent, so it’s perfect for creating bra visibility yet providing some coverage. Its see-through quality adds allure and sensuality to your overall outfit. Whether that’s a mesh top or dress, look for anything with cutouts or patterns that accentuate the bra below it. Mesh comes in a variety of styles, patterns, and colors that offer a wide range of options when developing different peekaboo looks.

Oversized Blazer

What’s a better peekaboo moment than bras replacing shirts altogether? By wearing an oversized blazer over a bra, you can achieve a layered effect that adds depth and dimension to your outfit. It can be worn with a variety of bottoms, such as jeans, skirts, or shorts. Whether you have a neutral-colored blazer ensemble complemented by a vibrant pop of color from your bra, or opt for a bold and vibrant blazer paired with a sleek and understated bra underneath, you can effortlessly create a stylish and versatile ensemble that exudes confidence and individuality. If you feel like this look could be too revealing, you can even try it with bikini tops during the summer months.
