Are you looking to make your green, blue or brown eyes stand out? Get inspired from my tips and these YouTube videos and you’ll be on your way to looking fabulous this weekend! Many of the items I have recommended come from drugstores and are reasonably priced and easy to find.

Click on the links above to check out my tips on each eye color!

Note: Before applying any eyeshadow, always use a primer! Try Urban Decay Primer Potion, your shadow will stick to your skin easily and the colors will appear brighter.

1. How to Make Brown Eyes Pop:
Listen up all you brown eyed girls! From caramel to chocolate brown, it’s time to bring out your beautiful, brown eyes!
Celebrity Representatives: Rihanna, Hilary Duff, and Kim Kardashian

  •  Look #1: Use Blue or Purple – Stick to bright blues such as royal or aqua blue; navy also works well! For Purple, use lilac, amethyst or violet
  • Products: Loreal HiP eye shadow duo in Flashy or Riotous

When using colors like bright blues or purples, there is a lot of wiggle room. Because brown is a neutral color, using bright shadows or liners is totally acceptable and can look really cool if done correctly. For a more toned down look, try using just a blue liner like Rihanna; you can try it on just the upper lash line, just the bottom, or both!

Follow these tips from YouTuber Shirleybeniang and create Rihanna’s sexy, blue look:

Use a bright colored liner or shadow and saturate the lid. Blend the color into the lash line and add a liner to finish off the look. Tone down the look by using less color or glam it up by using more.

  • Look #2: Use Brown – Chocolate, light brown, mocha, tan, gold
  • Products: Rimmel London Color Rush Quad in Chocolatine

Opt for a natural look by sweeping a medium brown color across the lid, gold on top of that, and a touch of white on the inner corner of the eye. Add a touch of white under the brow, trace your upper lash line (bottom lash line optional) with an espresso brown liner and don’t forget the mascara!

For an ultra-glam, brown smokey eye, take a tip from YouTuber Beechbum06 and recreate this Hilary Duff-inspired look!

  • Look #3: Use Gray – Pewter, light/dark gray, silver, black
  • Products: Loreal HiP Eyeshadow in Metallic, Rimmel London Color Rush Quad in Smokey Blue or Smokey Noir

This color palette is great for brown eyes because it is very versatile; use the gray alone by sweeping it across your lid for a simple, natural look. Highlight your eyes by dabbing some white shadow under your brow and tracing the inner corner of your eye with white eyeliner. Top it off with mascara and black liner and you’ve got a soft, but sexy look.

If you’re going out for the night, try using silver, gray, and black to create the original smokey eye look. Start by covering your lid with white eyeshadow, all the way up to the brow and into the inner corner. Add a touch of black to the outer corner of your eye and blend that into a u-shape around your outer corner with a dark gray shadow. Finally retouch the white you may have lost from all that blending. Add a touch of silver to the inner corner of your eye, add liner, mascara and you are good to go! If you want to take the look a step further, add some false eye lashes for extra drama.
