We thought the bubble nail trend was bad enough, but this beauty vlogger took it to another level by painting her nails with 116 coats of nail polish. Cristine’s YouTube channel, Simply Nailogical, features everything from manicure trends to polish hacks, but this time she went where no manicure has gone before.
This glob of polish, coined “polish mountain” by Cristine, is the somewhat terrifying result of her experiment.
Cristine’s original goal was to paint 1,000 layers, but considering it took 14 hours and 51 minutes to do a mere 116 coats, we can only applaud her efforts for getting as far as she did.
Although this look isn’t necessarily one you’d see day-to-day (unless you’re about that creature-from-the-deep look), it’s definitely satisfied a beauty hypothetical that we wouldn’t dream of doing ourselves.
So thank you, Cristine for taking on this challenge and proving that if you can paint your nails for over 14 hours straight, while only pausing for a few bites of pizza and some golden grahams, we can wait five minutes for two coats of polish to dry.
