Go From Day to Night With LORAC Starry-Eyed Baked Eye Shadow Trio

My collection of eye shadows is far from large. I own exactly three products: a vibrant, copper-gold shade I bought at Walgreens for $3 in sixth grade (full disclosure – I still use it); a pale, shimmery gold shadow I wore at my Bat Mitzvah; and a soft lilac-gray shadow a pushy MAC sales associate urged me to buy two years ago. I like to wear makeup, but experimenting with new products tends to be somewhat outside my comfort zone. I have my routine and I know what works for me – why try anything new, right?

… Maybe not. I was recently asked to try out LORAC’s Starry-Eyed Baked Eye Shadow Trio. I deviated from my typical “gold shadow, black mascara” look and opted for something a little different. My LORAC trio included an ivory highlighter, a rusted peach contour, and a dark olive accent color. Here’s my day look:

I swept the ivory shadow over my entire lid, from my lash line to my brow bone. Next, I blended the peach shadow into my lid and crease. I dipped a small, angled eyeliner brush into water, then used it to pick up the olive shadow. I lined my upper lashline and lower waterline with the olive shadow, then finished with one coat of mascara.

I created a night look with the same palette:

To create more drama, I layered the olive shadow over my lid and blended into my crease. The result? Tons of shimmer! The palette is named “Starry-Eyed” for a good reason. I added a thin line of black pencil liner for definition, another coat of black mascara, and a sheer layer of my favorite blush.

I would definitely recommend LORAC’s Starry-Eyed Trio! I’m not a makeup artist by any means, but I found this product fairly intuitive to use. The formulas are sheer enough to work for day, but can easily be amped up for a glam night look, too. To purchase any of the six shades, head over to Sephora.
