Here in Chrissy’s Beauty School, I believe you all are beautiful. But let’s be honest girls, there’s always some imperfection you’d like to hide from the world, right? It happens to all of us: We get a pimple, we bump into something and get a nasty bruise, or that time in the sun gives us so many freckles that we risk looking like a cheetah.

Now the question is, how do you cover up these problem areas? You could use whatever concealer you have lying around the house or you could just ignore the problem in the first place. Or you could take a hint from the pros and use Smart Cover, a water-proof, smudge-proof and sweat-proof concealer.

Hollywood make-up artist Christina Smith uses Smart Cover on many of her celebrity clients including Julia Roberts, Gisele Bundchen, and Helen Mirren.
A few months back, our resident HC-Approved expert Cara tested out Smart Tan, a waterproof bronzer and concealer. To help you turn your most embarrassing imperfections into things of beauty, I tried out the Smart Cover starter kit.

The kit includes several different shades of Smart Cover concealing crème, ranging from light to dark, allowing you to mix them to find your perfect shade. There’s also a color corrector (so you can adjust the color of the concealing crème), moisture primer lotion, a vitamin beauty stick for the eye area, camouflage brush, blending sponges, and a travel case.

I tried Smart Cover out on a few occasions. Being clumsy, I had a pretty nasty bruise on my leg that I was hoping to conceal while wearing summery (and short) dresses.  I was a bit concerned the first time I applied it because I’m pretty pale and it takes a great concealer to match my skin tone. And so the first time I tried Smart Cover, it was a bit too dark for my liking.

But as with many products, you have to fall into a nice groove with Smart Cover and learn what works best for you through trial and error. So the second time I applied the concealer, I just added in a bit more Color Corrector and it blended perfectly. You could hardly notice my bruise was there! The concealer was long-lasting and helped hide the bruise.

According to its website, Smart Cover is also great for covering dark eye circles, varicose veins, scars, and tattoos. The Smart Cover-Up Kit is available online for $29.75.
