Everything You Need to Know about Getting Glowing Skin For the Holidays

This is a sponsored feature. All opinions are 100% from Her Campus.

October through December tend to be the busiest months for college students. In addition to all the fun fall activities happening around campus, many students are also busy with midterms, which means coordinating group projects, overnight study sessions in the library, and the looming thoughts of final grades. This combination of stress and sleep deprivation certainly doesn’t do our skin any justice.

So, if you’re looking for simple ways to regain your beauty glow post-midterms and keep it glowing all holiday season long, here are four skincare and body care tips with the best product recommendations – all of which can be found at Ulta Beauty!

Prioritize Your Skin

As a senior who is trying to balance academics, work and a social life, I’m constantly on the go, and I often find myself neglecting my skin and its needs. Though I’ve tried to cover my acne and large pores with concealer, I finally realized that the best remedy for my skin was an adjusted skincare routine. So, I started using face cleansing products such as the boscia MakeUp-BreakUp Cool Cleansing Oil. This cleansing oil works hard to remove skin clogging impurities, and can be used in your double cleansing routine — which is where you wash your face twice: once with an oil-based cleanser and once with a water-based cleanser.

Another face product I recommend is Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream. Since the weather is getting colder and dryer by the day, you need a face product that will provide 24-hour moisture while strengthening your skin’s barrier.

Exfoliation Equals Skin Rejuvenation

Exfoliation is a great way to get rid of dead skin cells (and stress!) and it’s super important to include an exfoliating product at least 2-3 times a week in your shower routine. If you’re hesitant about trying a body scrub because it might be too harsh or it might not smell exactly like your favorite fall scent, I would opt into purchasing the WHIM by Ulta Beauty Ombre Loofah. Loofahs are gentle exfoliators that can be used with any desired body wash!

Every Skin Needs a Taste of Body Butter

As any beauty lover knows, moisturizer is important in keeping our face and body protected. A sign that my skin is dry and needs some extra TLC is when my legs, arms and/or hands start to look ashy, showing me that I haven’t been as intentional in taking care of my skin as I should be. So, in order for my skin to stay moisturized throughout the day, I use the Buttah Skin Whipped Body Butter! This product is a favorite of mine because it nourishes the skin, and is rich with essential vitamins that help promote an even skin tone.

Add a Spritz of Glow & Essential Oils

One of my most recent body care discoveries is body oils. Unlike lotions and moisturizers, body oils add a finishing glow to your overall appearance, and in most cases, have a long-lasting scent that will have you smelling as good as you look! This month I’m looking forward to swapping my old body oils for the Nude Sugar Sugar Plum Elixir Restore & Renew Body Serum. This product works on restoring the texture of your skin while providing skin hydration. Plus, its signature scent is a combination of Peruvian lime, orange blossom, creamy vanilla, tonka milk, honeyed musk, and golden amber.
