Stop What You’re Doing & Shop These Gen Z Depop Stores

As someone who has been re-selling clothes since the age of twelve, I — like many other passionate small business owners and resellers — am upset that Depop has developed a pretty bad rep these days. I mean, the app is convenient, provides a smart search-engine-optimization (SEO) feature to get your products discovered, and boasts a timely customer service team. What is there not to like?

Honestly, however, I do not blame y’all.

I’ll be the first to admit that there has been an increase in annoying, scammy sellers since the rise of #thrifttok, #rarebrandy, and other viral internet trends involving frequenting the Goodwills of the world. However, your shopping experience shouldn’t be ruined by a few (well, nowadays it’s a lot more than a few) bad apples — there are so many shops that are actually sustainable, affordable, and ethical — and are run by passionate re-sellers, sewers, beaders, artists, and more that are, seriously, not trying to scam you.

I know that going down the Depop rabbit hole can be time-consuming, so I took the liberty of scouring the nation’s most popular second-hand shopping app to create a list of the best Depop shops run by passionate sellers that are both affordable and legitimate.

@tatumarray, Hand-sewn Clothing

As someone who has purchased from Tatum Array’s shop, I can confirm that she is a super sweet seller with unique designs! Each item is handmade by Tatum, and she offers excellent bundle deals for new and returning customers! Shipping time is also super quick, which is a plus for made-to-order products. Just shoot her a message to get started shopping at her store!

@crochetgalsoph, Hand-sewn Clothing

Sophie Marie’s shop boasts unique crochet clothing, all handmade by her! Shipping from her shop is free in the UK, but she provides paid international shipping as well!

@katelynharuko, Handmade Jewelry & Curated Vintage/Clothing

#Shameless self-plug, but I’ve always been passionate about finding hidden treasures, researching/dating clothing, and creating! These days I’ve been focusing more on jewelry making, which is a coping skill I’ve used to calm my anxiety. All beads are selected one at a time at local bead stores located in both Honolulu and Orange County.

@og_digigirl, Curated Vintage/Clothing

If you’re looking for the trendiest shop on the market, Dani has you covered. Her shop is full of unique pieces that are actually to die for. Statement jackets, vintage denim, and Y2K baby tees… don’t be surprised if you see me buying everything from Dani’s shop.

@carissanelson, Handmade Jewelry

Also known as Eye Candy by Riss, Carissa is currently dropping a new collection of handmade jewelry just in time for the holidays.

@daphnewxngg, Hand-sewn Clothing

Daphne’s shop boasts all things coquette! Her handmade pieces that showcase pastel, lace, and floral themes are also super affordable, with none currently exceeding $40 USD!

@lilydiemert, Curated Vintage/Clothing

Lily carefully curates each piece, finding her products at places such as local flea markets, Goodwill bins, and swap meets, per her Tiktok. Her shop is super affordable, with many pieces being priced at just $15!

@softliesxo, Hand-printed Clothing

I’m not going to lie, I kind of wanted to gatekeep this one… Soft Lies’ shop boasts screen-printed tops, skirts, bikinis, dresses, and purses!

@thefakecakeshop, Fake Cakes

How cute! These cakes look ultra-realistic, and are also fairly priced! So far, nothing in their shop exceeds $60 USD, and they offer free shipping within the US! Gosh, I want one so bad!

@lostdogvintage, Handmade Jewelry & some Crochet/Hand-sewn Products

I’ve been a long-time fan of Lost Dog Vintage, their jewelry especially is my favorite!

@bluehydr4nge4, Curated Vintage/Clothing

Blue Hydrangea’s shop boasts carefully selected clothing perfect for all of you #softgirls! If you like pastels, this is your place to go to achieve an ultimate #fairycore-esque closet.
