The Fourth of July has always been one of my favorite holidays. Burgers & hot dogs and an excuse to dress festively? Sign me up! The one dilemma I face every year is what to wear. Sure, I could go with the same flag shirt I’ve worn the past three years in a row, but my inner fashion lover screams to try something different this year.
This year, I’ve decided to tackle this dilemma head on and scour the internet for outfit inspo. No matter what your style, I’ve compiled a list of some of my favorite Fourth of July looks so give you some inspiration and some pieces you can shop to get your outfit started. From lounging poolside at a barbecue to a beach bonfire, no matter what your Fourth of July plans entail, we can guarantee you’ll be the best dressed.
Everyday uniform, but make it festive
If your Fourth plans are a little more low-key, keep it simple with a festive tee paired with your favorite denim shorts, a red bandana, and white sneakers. It’s just as comfy as your everyday uniform, but 100 times as festive.
Femme fourth
Opt for a retro chic look just like Bachelorette Hannah Brown by pairing a gingham dress with dangly earrings and big sunnies. Finish off the look with a high ponytail tied with a bandana. Watermelon optional.
Red, white, & boujee
For more upscale Fourth of July plans (dinner on a yacht, anyone?), take a cue from Blake of Signed Blake and pair a structured red top with breezy navy and white striped pants. The look is still super festive but in a sophisticated way.
Classic & cozy
Keep it casual in a cozy striped sweater like the one Jen Weatherall is rocking and pair it with your favorite red accessories. Wear it over your bikini to keep warm at a nighttime beach bonfire or pair it with shorts.
Subtle stripes
If you’re not super into the Fourth of July, buy you still want to look festive, throw on a blue and white striped dress and pair it with your favorite accessories (and maybe a swipe of cherry red lipstick). I especially love the round straw bag that Jackie of InstinctivelyEnVogue paired with her dress.
Cute & casual
Amp up the cute factor with an accent pair or earrings. A standout, fruity earring is def on our list of must-have summer accessories — these cherry pieces are seriously too perfect for the holiday.
