The fashion industry seems to operate according to an “everything old is new again” mentality. Leggings, plaid, and cinched waists are all wildly popular current trends that first emerged decades ago. But just because it’s trendy, doesn’t mean it’s flattering and some looks are better off staying in their proverbial closet. Today, The New York Times Style section highlighted the top 10 trends of 2010 that they never want to see again. Nikki Fig is a Broadcast Journalism major at Emerson College. She writes, produces and reports for shows on several Emerson television stations and is a web writer for Emerson's lifestyle publication, Em Mag.
