Earth Lovers: Too good to be true!

This is a sponsored feature. All opinions are 100% from Her Campus.

Happy Earth Day!!!

This is for Thursday’s shower; Friday’s shower post will be posted later today!

I was a little tipsy, so my shower ran a bit on the long side tonight (4.5 min).

A follow-up note on the “water-wise weed” post: When I began this challenge, I made a loose commitment (to myself) to refrain from purchasing anything until Earth Day. I figured it was a good opportunity to save money, reduce demand, and conserve the water that contributes to the production of … everything. Well, a few nights ago, I found the first article of hemp clothing that has ever appealed to me. In fact, the dress appealed to me on aesthetic grounds before I found out that it was made of organic cotton and hemp. I don’t know if the dress’s hemp content compensates for my broken committment, but I just wanted to retract my earlier blanket statement that hemp clothing is unsightly!

Anyway, in celebration of Earth Day, I thought I’d share a few Earth Day freebies with you (it’s ironic that Earth Day is being used to promote consumption, but no college student is immune to a good deal!)
-Bring in a reusable mug to Starbucks and get a free coffee or tea
-Lowe’s is giving away 1,000,o00 trees on Saturday (April 23rd)
-Today is the last day to save up to 60% off on green products at drugstore.com
-Free admission to US national parks until Sunday!

I have a big day ahead of me; I’ll be going into Boston to have lunch with my brother, and then I need to rush back to Cambridge for meetings the rest of the afternoon. I also need to finish a term paper and track down a dress for my spring formal next week! Thankfully there’s no stress to look good, since my skin is already on the road to clearing up (cue segue into my review of The Body Shop’s Nutriganics line!).

I’ve saved my review of the Nutriganics line because its results seemed almost too good to be true at first. E

ven as I approach my twenties (eek!), my skin is not naturally clear. However, the Nutriganics foaming facial cleanser is so light and leaves my skin clean, not stripped, dry, or filmy.

I love its light texture (the bottle uses a foaming pump) and lack of fragrance.

As an added bonus, the cleanser also removes eyeliner and mascara better than my eye makeup remover. The toner is great as well, but if you have to pick one, spring for the cleanser. Along with The Body Shop’s DeoDry, this is a product I know I’ll be returning to. After two weeks of use, my skin already feels more balanced and looks so much less bumpy and generally icky.

Leave a comment to tell me how you’ll be celebrating Earth Day and follow me at twitter.com/jsongnaps! Check back at Her Campus later today for my final post, which will include a comprehensive review of all the awesome Earth Lovers Shower Gels I’ve been using for the past two weeks!
