Helloooooo, Earth Lovers!
It’s only 1 DAY ‘TIL EARTH DAY! WOO!
Which means, we all only have to take 1 more 3-minute shower! Right?
Nope. I’m going to continue taking 3-minute showers even after this Three-Minute Shower Challenge is over. And you should too! Why? Not just because it’s good for the environment, saves the earth’s precious resources, and prevents us from all dying (which would happen if the world ran out of water)… though those are all excellent reasons. It’s because (if I haven’t told you this enough these past 2 weeks…):
It saves SO much time!!
Seriously. 2 weeks from today I will be celebrating finishing college. Ahh! That’s frightening. But also super exciting. However, I have a LOT of work to get done before then, and not a lot of time to do it in. I have 5 papers who write, 2 presentations to do, 1 TV show to host, 1 dance show to perform in, and a bunch of other things that I can’t think of right now. Too much stuff to do – AHH!
The last 2 nights I’ve gone to sleep at 5:30 in the morning… Which, yes, is when it starts to get light outside… ahh!
I made this video yesterday right after I woke up from only 3 hours of sleep (which was better than today – I only slept an hour and 1/2! But I got to take a nap later, don’t worry…!) – so if you want to see how much of a struggle I was, watch it!
Basically, the only thing motivating me to do any of this work is the fact that in 2 weeks, my papers, presentations, and exams, will be done. Forever!
And the only thing that gives me any hope of having a little bit of extra time to do this work in is the fact that I can – and do – now take 3-minute showers! I used to take probably 15 minute showers, so the 12-minutes that I’m saving each day adds up to over an hour per week! Which gives me an extra 2 hours before finals are over! Phew!
So I will at least be taking 3-minute showers for another 2 weeks. And then by that point, I’ll have been taking these short showers for a whole month! So it’ll be second nature at that point, and hopefully I can keep it up when Summer comes and I have more free time!
