Hello Earth-Loving Friends!

Sunday’s 3-Minute Shower Song:

You’re So Last Summer – Taking Back Sunday
Monday’s 3-Minute Shower Song:

Some Postman – Presidents of the United States of America

I hope you had a great weekend! If you’re in New England, like me, you had a day off from school today (what is Patriots’ Day, anyway?)… which is AWESOME! I personally have been really needing an extra day to just chill out and relax, and get some work done… Too bad the Boston Marathon was today, so I watched that instead of being productive! Oops…

Me and some of my friends tailgating the Boston Marathon! The runners ran right by us down the street – we were so impressed!

I actually had 3 friends running in the marathon this year, which I’m really proud of, even though I clearly have nothing to do with it… but the fact that I’m friends with them makes me feel more in shape by default… haha. I was hoping that watching them run today would motivate me to do some extra exercising this week! So we’ll see about that…

But how does the Boston Marathon relate to Earth Day (which is now only 4 days away!) and saving water?

Well, you know those days when you wake up, take a shower, then go about your day as normal, then you workout, and then you have to put your regular clothes back on… or – ahh! – get dressed up? You’re sweaty and gross from your workout, and you don’t want to be gross in your non-exercise clothes… So what do you do?

Take a 2nd shower (with your Shower Gels for Earth Lovers, of course!).

Clearly, this is not what we Earth Lovers like to do. Taking two 3-minute showers is the same as taking a 6-minute shower originally, which uses up twice as much showering water as you need each day! So what is the solution to this dilemma?

Dry shampoo!

Seriously, I discovered this gem of a beauty product a month ago, and it changed my life. Well, my life is still basically the same… just with less unnecessary showering! The brand I’ve been using is Tresemme FreshStart, but there’s a bunch of different brands you can choose from. Now, I know this doesn’t solve the problem of your sweaty, exercised body, but a quick (~30 seconds) rinse (rather than a full shower) can take care of that!

Then, once all the evidence of your workout session is cleared away (besides your in shape bod!), you can go on to getting ready for the rest of your day! Which, if you were me this weekend, meant getting ready for 4 nights of formal dresses in a row… ahh! I already showed you guys pictures from the first couple of nights, so here’s how the rest of my formal weekend went/looked!

Me and some of my sorority sisters at the Greek Life Semi-Formal on Saturday night!

Me and more of the sisters of Alpha Epsilon Phi, after the Emerson Recognition & Achievement (ERA) Awards, including our beautiful President, Joanna Arpie – Emerson College’s Greek of the Year!

Like I said above, there’s only a few more days until Earth Day! Earth Day is on Friday, so make sure you perfect your 3-minute showering skills before then!

Peace, Love, and Short Showers,
